During creating my animation based on my first idea, i realized once complete, it wouldnt turn out as i had hoped and would look alot more unprofessional than my other new idea would.
Also because of me not having much of an idea to use and base my animation on, i thought it would look quite useless and a waste of time.

I then restarted my jellybaby animation on my new idea involving the fatal crash scene in the film the titanic.
Firstly to start off my animation, i printed out an image of the titanic ship and cut it out to use, i also stuck a dark blue piece of tissue paper to a light blue piece of card to show the sea and sky.
Next i drew a couple of white clouds on card and cut them out to use at the top of the card in the sky, to show that the ship was traveling through the day before it crashed.
I then made a couple of icebergs to cause the crash from clay and stuck them to the card.

I also made 2 lifeboats from white clay and a small raft from blown clay.

Next i started making my animation by slowley moving the image of the titanic by by bit to the right so that in the end it would play through as if it was moving by itself.

Further into the animation, when the ship made it to the iceberg, i moved it in between them and then started to rip it once it was locked inside to look as though like in the film it had hit it, and caused it to break apart.
I then completely ripped the ship in half once it passed right through and then moved both half's of the ship towards the bottom of the sea very slowley as though sinking.

Now i finally used the main objects in my animation which was the jellybabies and i showed them jumping out of the ship as it was sinking by gradually moving each very slowley into the air and then into the water.

Then i moved in the two lifeboats with jellybabies on into the screen to save the remaining survivors in the water.
Near to the end i moved a little brown raft towards the top of the sea holding two jellybabies representing jack and rose, jack then floating away towards the bottom of the sea as shown in the film.

Finally i moved in one of the lifeboats used before to rescue the jellybaby and then rode off to safety!

I also added a title which was 'Titanic 2, iceberg strikes back' to the start of my animation and credits to the end of my animation, showing which jellybaby represented which character fro the film, i also included my name as producer and Sophie Mitchell's name as she helped me make my props from the clay.

To finish my animation off completely, i added a light blue background to the start and end of my animation just behind the opening title and end credits, as this helped the different coloured text stand out alot more.
To give it more effect, i also remembered to add some music to the background, being played while the animation was on and then fading away when it finished.

This is a step by step guide of how i created my jellybaby animation and finished it how i did.

Evaluation

From looking back at my created animation and the written work I have produced to go with it on my blogger account, I think that overall it was quite a good well made animation which showed a new recreated version of the film the titanic in cartoon form, however lasting only about 35 seconds maximum.

I decided to create my animation using model based as the animation type because I thought that it was the most inventive, creative and imaginative type of animation out of that and the four others which are cut out, cell based, time lapse, and pixilation.
I chose to make my animation from model based by using jellybaby sweets to act as my models within my created animation rather than anything else because of them being able to move around more freely etc.


I used a variety of different coloured jellybabies to show different people in the film the titanic, and so that they could be understood and recognized in the credits more easily.
From the start of my animation, when it was first being created I realised that I was actually using cut out aswell as model based animation in my animation because of the clouds, and the actual titanic ship I used to crash were both cut out animation, and I think using two animation types together has made my animation a lot more effective and unique and will stand out better overall.

As my animation only lasted about 35 seconds maximum, the start was actually the end of the film, showing from where the titanic crashes up until when of the main characters rose was saved in a lifeboat, aswell as other survivors.

I then saved and uploaded my animation to blogger to be shown and criticised, even though I hadn’t fully completed it by adding a soundtrack or title and credits.
This is one of the important things that member so y class commented I should have had to improve my animation and so improve my mark.

However from my criticism back, a lot of people have said that my animation was creative, imaginative, unique and had an easy understandable storyline to watch and refer to the real film from.
Yet there was also more criticism which showed that people thought I could have improved it a lot if a few ways, for example even though some people said it was a good use of software, my camera skills could have been improved at the same time.
There was some reference to using a good blend of cut out and model based animation together which could have made it a more fascinating animation overall.
Most of the bad points about my animation were on the same thing, which was that it was lacking music for the background, title and credits which would have helped it stand out more rather than being just a plain animation with no sound and so very unappealing.



However once I had shown my animation to the other members of my class and had then been criticised from both good and bad points, I added the music for the background which was the main theme song used in the film titanic which was “my heart will go on” by Celine Dion, because this particular song obviously fits in with my animation on the recreated titanic film using certain scenes because of it fitting in with the exact same idea used in the actual film itself.

I then finally added my title and credits to the start and end of my animation, my title being named “Titanic the 2nd, iceberg strikes back”, as though the iceberg has hit the titanic once and it is doing it again, and I used bright colours aswell as a blue coloured background behind to look more appealing.
I then added my credits last, which show which coloured jellybaby acted as which actor in titanic, I also wrote the name of the singer who sang the song I have used in my animation which was Celine Dion and at the end I have added that I produced it with help from another member of my class which was Sophie Mitchell.

Overall I think that it was quite a well made animation once I had added the music, title and credits, but could have defiantly used some new different techniques aswell to maybe show in more detail how I made my animation and problems I might have had during creating it, aswell as good points and I could have wrote about all these things on my blogger in a step by step plan.

Today i finally completed my Jellybaby animation, as i added the title, credits, music and a background color at the start and end behind the text, and you can see this from my animation video below and the printscreened image i have used which shows my animation with the soundtrack.

I now have everything pretty much complete apart from my evaluation, which i will do in my own time.

Today i finally started taking the photo's of my animation as it went along, and now only need to finish my animation and add the title sequence, end credits and music in the background :)

i have chosen a new idea to work on but still using the same type of animation and the same objects, and i have replanned out my new idea and now should defiantly be able to film it and have the photos finished and ready this time next week and then only need to complete my evaluation.

Today i carried on with making my model using clay and jellybabies, even though at the start of the lesson i started again using the same idea but just so the island and other parts were larger and would look more realistic.
And so i added to what i had before with some parts and i am now nearly done, and only need to finish my storyboard and the end of my animation ;)

I created the next part of my jellybaby animation sequence from the clay, and i also took some more photos of the parts of the animation i finished completing today.
And i now only need to finish the last few parts of my animation, by creating it and then take the last few images of them after.

Jelly Babies - Stop-Motion Development

Today I drew out and planned my storyboard for when i start to create my moving animation next week.
I also thought out and planned my idea of how i am going to create it and what props etc i will use for the animation, for example my background mostly consists of being outside so i will need to use a background from the internet which is situated near a tree etc.

My storyboard idea consists of two jellybabies fighting over a fruit cherry and later getting it stolen from them by someone else which i thought of over the last few days.
I have chose to make my animation from model based as i think its the most creative type of animation and also one of the most fun, and very inventive when it comes to actually creating the animation.
